Sandoval Economic Alliance announced this week it has appointed Tom Novak, CEO of Klinger Constructors, as its new chairman.
SEA also appointed three new members to its board of directors for the 2016-2017 fiscal year: Richard Bruce of Rio Rancho Public Schools, Mark Goodwin of Mark Goodwin & Associates and Manuel Quintana of PNM.
“As incoming chair, I look forward to working with the board, the staff and all our partners to continue moving forward the good practices and wins we have seen the first two years of SEA’s existence,” Novak said in a statement. “I also look forward to improving our results from lessons we have learned. Lastly, with the innovative thinking power we have within the Alliance, I look forward to finding those new ways we can help businesses grow or relocate successfully. Individually we all can play a part in job growth, but collectively as SEA, we can help facilitate job growth that can change Sandoval County and the city of Rio Rancho for years to come.”
Novak has been a member of SEA’s board since the organization began in 2014. He’s also a board member of NAIOP New Mexico, a member of ABC’s Apprenticeship Trust and an ambassador for the United Way of Central New Mexico. He previously served as president of the Associated Builders & Contractors, and is a graduate of Leadership Albuquerque. He has been with Klinger Constructors since 1981.
The Sandoval Economic Alliance was started in 2014 after the Rio Rancho Economic Development Corp. ended operations. SEA started with a $400,000 annual budget, with the city of Rio Rancho and Sandoval County both contributing $200,000 to the effort.
