The Sandoval Economic Alliance is jostling with economic big hitters like New York and Texas in an effort to lure the headquarters of the “Bring Good Things to Life” company, according to a report in the Rio Rancho Observer.

The alliance will submit a proposal this week to Connecticut-based General Electric to move its corporate headquarters to New Mexico, said Sandoval Economic Alliance President and CEO Jami Grindatto.

According to recent reports, GE is exploring moving its headquarters in response to higher taxes approved in Connecticut’s recent budget.

Grindatto said the alliance contacted GE in early June and GE officials asked for a proposal. The Sandoval County economic development group has since been working with the New Mexico Economic Development Department on that proposal, which they’re now ready to deliver.

Texas, New York and Indiana are also reportedly working to lure GE.
