RIO RANCHO — The Sandoval Economic Alliance has hired an economic development official from Wisconsin as its new president and CEO.
The new president, Steve Jenkins, is a certified economic developer with more than
40 years of experience, according to a news release from the Economic Alliance. He most recently served as president of the Fond du Lac County, Wisc., Economic Development Corporation.
Jenkins replaces Jami Grindatto, who announced his resignation earlier this spring.
Jenkins also has worked in Kansas, Texas, Missouri, Colorado, Louisiana and North Carolina. He holds a business degree from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville, according to the release. He is a member of the International Economic Development Council, where he serves on the certification committee, the International Asset Management Council and the World Future Society.
“Rio Rancho and Sandoval County sit in the midst of a growing metro with exceptional business assets and a focus on the future. Working with SEA’s public and private partners to bring new levels of prosperity will be my top priority,” Jenkins said in the release.
Jenkins will start July 17.
“We are thrilled to welcome Steve to our community and to see where he takes the organization in collaboration with Rio Rancho, and Sandoval County,” stated SEA Chair-elect Angela Ward.
The organization was created in 2014, with contributions from Sandoval County and the city of Rio Rancho, to promote business opportunities in the area.
